The client:
The Whitakers Arms is an independent, family friendly pub based in the town Otley just outside of Leeds.
What we did:
Our audit of Freedom of Information data provided by Leeds City Council flagged that The Whitakers Arms were overpaying on their business rates.
We confirmed our analysis with further research into the pub itself and Protea Limited, the occupying entity.
Once we were satisfied there was a strong case, Marshall reached out to the Otley based pub. We instructed to proceed and sent our application to the local authority.
The result:
Our application was successful, generating a refund for the pub that was paid back directly to their bank account.
What our client said:
"Marshall was fantastic thought the whole process, I was very suspicious as why would someone reach out to help me get a refund for rates I’ve overpaid.
I am glad I went ahead as at the end I received a very nice refund and my new rates instated by the council"
