Chapel House Training And Consultancy Ltd

The client:
Chapel House Training and Consultancy Ltd (ChTC) have been providing training, development and consultancy services to multinationals, micro-businesses and everything in between since 2011.
What we did:
Analysis of data provided by the Valuation Office and Selby District Council showed ChTC were receiving two business rates bills for their offices that were situated in the same building.
By merging these assessments with the Valuation Office, our analysis showed their business rates liability could be reduced substantially.
"After some initial cynicism about whether this was a genuine offer I was delighted to find that it was."
Ruby reached out to ChTC, explained what we had found and how we could help.
The result:
Once given the go ahead we submitted our application to the Valuation Office explaining how the two assessments matched all the legal criteria to be merged back to 2023. This was accepted after roughly 12 weeks.
We then contacted the local authority and applied for relief that ChTC were now eligible for. This was applied but we noticed when reviewing the council's calculations that further relief hadn't been applied - we highlighted this and this was promptly rectified.
In the end ChTC's historic bills were reduced by 90% with a significant ongoing reduction.
What our client said:
"After some initial cynicism about whether this was a genuine offer I was delighted to find that it was. Ruby at Holloway Bond did all the heavy lifting and we received a sizeable [business rates] rebate which was fantastic."
