The client:
Silk Mill House, run by Loveshack Locations Limited, is a state of the art country house based in the Cotswolds available for short term holiday lets.
What we did:
Following our audit of data provided by Cotswold District Council, we identified a potential avenue to reduce the business rates liability at Silk Mill House.
We then conducted analysis of both Loveshack Locations Limited and the property itself, with an eye to the many potential legislative reliefs that could be applied to their account. After gaining a comprehensive understanding of the situation and having confidence in the viability of the case, we approached the company.
We were instructed shortly thereafter. Due to the fact we had already compiled the necessary information for the application, we were able to swiftly submit to the local authority.
The result:
Just two weeks after submitting our application, the local authority confirmed they had accepted our request. Around a week afterwards, Silk Mill House received a refund stemming from backdated rates and had confirmation of their reduction moving forward.
