Established over 35 years ago, PKF GM are insolvency practitioners based in Leeds and London, serving clients nationwide. PKF GM had been appointed as the liquidators for Pink Mango UK Limited towards the end of 2023.
What we did:
Our analysis of data provided by London Borough of Lambeth identified that prior to entering liquidation, Pink Mango UK Ltd had been overpaying on their business rates.
Entering insolvency proceedings is not a barrier for applications to reduce the historic business rates liability. In fact, its an extremely worthwhile venture to explore potential refunds for companies in insolvency proceedings as refunded overpaid business rates can provide a massive boost towards paying any creditors.
As PKF GM had been appointed as the insolvency practitioner in this case, they had the authority to instruct us.
We built an application to the council requesting overlooked relief be applied to Pink Mango UK Limited's historic account.
The result:
After just over two weeks we received notification our application had been successful; creating a refund that could be used to pay any creditors.
