The client:

James Anthony Gallery is a gallery based in Moreton-on-Marsh bringing together a wide range of pieces displayed in an intimate and relaxing environment.

What we did:

Following our audit of Cotswold Council data, we identified a potential avenue to reduce the business rates liability for the gallery. After conducting further research into the company we confirmed our hypothesis and got in touch.

"It took me some months before I finally got round to responding to emails from Holloway Bond, but I'm glad I did!"

We reached out to the directors via email, who not only wanted us to proceed with what we had identified but also to look at their other businesses to see if there were further opportunities.

We looked at their portfolio of businesses and properties both presently and historically. This led to two further avenues to reduce the business rates; with one of the opportunities being entirely historic.

We then built and submitted all three applications to the local authority.

The result:

All three applications were successful, resulting in a five figure refund and the liability of the gallery being reduced to nil moving forward.
