The client:
Il Gusto is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant offering authentic dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
What we did:
Our audit of data provided by Oxford City Council highlighted that Il Gusto could be paying too much on their business rates and there was a strong argument to dispute the bills they had been paying.
Only when we were absolutely positive there was a strong case, we approached our prospective client.
After conducting further checks on Il Gusto's property and the financial information held by Companies House, we were able to confirm what the data was telling us. Only when we were absolutely positive there was a strong case, we approached our prospective client.
Once we had received the go ahead, we built a case to present to the local authority arguing that our client had satisfied all the necessary ingredients to be placed onto the lower rate.
The result:
Within five weeks we received confirmation that our case was successful. This significantly reduced Il Gusto's bills moving forward and historically, creating a credit in the process.
